It has been a LONG time since I posted anything. It’s been a rough year, all around. The first half of the year, my amazing critique partner’s mother was in the hospital off and on. She is thankfully doing much better! Also in the first half of the year, my cover designer lost both her father-in-law, and her brother-in-law within the space of months. Because they were dealing with real life, I turned to my Aea Chronicles books, and worked on the them. It was an excellent break from the Witches’ War, and I needed it.
Around mid-year, I returned to Oliver and friends, and got most of the editing for The Crystalline Shadow complete. And then late in September, I lost my step-mom. She passed peacefully in the hospital about a week after nasty fall. She was 90.
So, between bouts of depression and helping family and the service and graveside, I’ve been trying to work, and I can say, it has helped to turn my mind to working. The Crystalline Shadow is fully edited now, and the cover has one more tweak before I order the first author’s copy. I’m projecting an end of November release date, but don’t hold me to that, please.
The Witch Crystal hasn’t changed at all since I last touched it. I’ve gone into my Scrivener files loads of times to make notes and look at it, but I haven’t written anything on it lately. I’m hoping to get restarted on it at the beginning of next year. I can report that it is half-written. But it’s a mess, to say the least. I’m one of those author’s of the pantser persuasion, and Frankendrafting is my go to method.
Anyway, I knew I needed to update. So here it is. Not feeling all that great today, so it may be a cross-stitch kinda day. I hope you’re all doing well out there.
