Hey, K.D. Rill here. Just want to share a bit about myself. I’m a pretty simple person, but my wild imagination has gotten me into more predicaments than I care to mention (see below). I like coffee, crocheting, quilting, gardening, chocolate, books, and writing. I love my family, which includes three cats, my husband’s awesome family, my own awesome family, plus a few awesome found family.
I’ve been writing since I was thirteen years old. (No, I’m not gonna tell you how long ago that was.) I’ve had lots of inspiration, starting with my very first fantasy read, The Sword of Shannara, by Terry Brooks. High fantasy became my writing love. Over the years I’ve read other genres, but I’ve only written fantasy. My ‘masterpiece’ in fantasy started life as a single novel. It grew so much that I decide it had to be a trilogy. And then the world of said trilogy expanded enormously one day when I thought to myself, “what if a world of magic ‘grew up.'” And by ‘grew up,’ I meant, what would happen to a world of magic as time went on, people learned and experimented, and science led to technology, alongside magic. And BOOM! My world became not one trilogy, but three trilogies. The first series was set in medieval times, the second was set in modern times, and the final one was set in the future, in space. All still with magic. And then last year, I realized the series had an origin story I didn’t know about. So. Four series, all set in the same world. Yikes. Did I mention my imagination is a tad untamed?
So the reason for that long-winded spiel above was to share with you that I’ve been writing for a long time. Yeah, I could’ve led with that, huh?
Well, I hope that you are willing to join me in my worlds. See you there!
